Dear resident,

On the 18th September 2024 at approximately 16:00 hrs an 11 year old boy was walking back from school when he was approached by a male driving a vehicle. The vehicle is described as an old grey car.

This has occurred in Byram on Sutton Lane, close to the junction with Buckingham Way. 

The male has asked the child how far he was walking and has then offered him a lift and asked him to get into the car. The child has refused and the vehicle has then driven off at speed down Sutton Lane in the direction of Birkin.

The male in question was not known to the child and is described as white, around 40 years old, bald with bad teeth and wearing a green high visibility vest or jacket.
