Not happened in Hambleton but a good result.

We’re guessing this didn’t turn out as planned… 🤔

We got reports of a driver pushing a broken-down vehicle on the hard shoulder of the A1(M) at Boston Spa.

Moments later as we were setting out to help, the driver turned up at the nearby Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) inspection site looking for assistance.

We were also at the site doing a joint vehicle safety operation… which was unfortunate for him, because he’d been driving while disqualified and was wanted by North Wales Police on an outstanding arrest warrant. 

So he was arrested.

As we're always happy to help, we did arrange for his car to be recovered.

But it was by one of our recovery trucks, after it was seized for being driven without a licence.

In total, 19 vehicles were stopped and inspected by a small team from our Road Policing Group during the safety operation last week.
