City Centre Neighbourhood Policing Results

Its been a busy few weeks for the York City Centre Neighbourhood Policing Team, some of our highlighted results are:-

During the night 5th November we responded to a report of a Burglary at a Restaurant in the City Centre and after some diligent work by Officers to trace the suspects movement, he was located and charged and remanded to Court, resulting in a guilty plea

13th November Officers arrested a prolific thief for breaching a premises closure notice (a premises causing significant issues in the community) and after some enquiries found he was responsible for a number of additional shop thefts . The individual was charged and remanded in custody and put before the next court.

Early hours on 15th November a prolific Burglar and Thief (we had a hand in sending back to prison earlier this year for a long string of offences) had been released and on the prowl in the City Centre. After some teamwork he was located and arrested coming away from a Burglary was charged with committing 2 Burglaries from that evening and some other offences outstanding. That individual received a further 28 week prison sentence at Court on Friday, meaning he will be away well into the new year.

Today we track down a nominal carrying a huge knife in the City centre resulting in his arrest and the seizure of phones, cash, drugs. He was arrested for being concerned in the supply of controlled drugs and as luck would have it, was also wanted for a recall to prison and is currently in custody.
