Serious Collision - Appeal

Good afternoon,

Serious collision between Easingwold & Thirsk yesterday – can you help our appeal? ⬇️

Did you witness a collision involving a van, lorry and a tractor on the A19 between Easingwold and Thirsk on Thursday morning (5 December)?

We are appealing for dashcam footage and information, including a key witness who stopped at the scene and said she may have captured the incident on dashcam. However she had left before we arrived.

It happened at around 10.30am south of the village of Thormanby and involved a white Peugeot van, a black HGV and a green tractor. All the vehicles were travelling north towards Thirsk.

The driver of the van, a man in his fifties, was taken to hospital with serious injuries where he currently remains. The occupants of the other vehicles were uninjured.

We are appealing for the key witness to come forward with their dashcam footage along with anyone else who saw the collision, saw the vehicles in the moments before, or has any dashcam footage.

If you can help our investigation, please email drew.crossley@northyorkshire.police.uk or mark.patterson@northyorkshire.police.uk

Or call 101 and ask for Drew Crossley or Mark Patterson

Please quote reference 12240221948 when passing on information.

The road was closed to allow the casualty to be treated and examine the scene and recover the vehicles.  It reopened at 4.45pm.
