Drones and helicopters - two 'eye in the sky' tools we're using to clamp down on criminals ☁

Yesterday evening we deployed a police drone after a report of off-road motorbikes driving on roads and footpaths dangerously, with no lights, in the Boroughbridge area. We identified a car linked to the incident in Thirsk, and arrested the driver on suspicion of drink driving.

Earlier that day, we deployed a National Police Air Service helicopter as we searched for a moped which failed to stop for officers near Selby. Enquiries are ongoing.

Criminals on our roads should know that they'll be pursued... whether it's by police on the ground, or in the sky.
