Tired of scam calls? Good news. 

From Wednesday 29th January 2025, phone companies must block overseas calls that pretend to be from UK landlines.

This is a common tactic used by scammers to defraud victims by imitating - or ‘spoofing’- UK phone numbers from a trusted person or organisation.

BT blocked up to 1 million scam calls per day in the first month of adopting this blocking measure.
