You may have seen reports of wild fires around the country, most believed to have been caused either intentionally or accidentally. These fires cause danger to lives of people, livelihoods, livestock, wildlife, land and property, and is a significant danger for firefighters trying to put these out.  The effects can be catastrophic, and the effects, even after the flames have gone, can last for many years.  

Fires can easily be started by barbecues, dis-guarded cigarettes, camp fires and rubbish.  Your day out in the countryside, could cause devastating effects if a fire was to break out.  The ground is bone dry, making it easy for fires to start and spread becoming out of control very quickly.
