Last night, officers were on patrol in the Catterick Village area when they sighted a suspicious looking car.

As officers have been behind the vehicle it has driven away from them at speed, and a short pursuit has ensued. 

Sight of the vehicle was temporarily lost as it has gone into the back streets of the village. Through joint efforts of your local Neighbourhood Policing Team, Response and Reassurance Team, and the Roads Policing Group the vehicle was found abandoned in a cul-de-sac shortly after.

The vehicle has been seized by Police and enquiries are currently ongoing to identify the driver. Whilst on this occasion the driver wasn't apprehended at the scene, we have successfully removed their vehicle from our roads and we will endeavour to put them in front of the courts and bring them to justice.
