This means riders must have: Because insurance is almost impossible to obtain for personal E‑scooters, they cannot legally be used on roads, pavements, cycle paths, or parks. If riders break the rules:🚲 Legal E‑Bikes (EAPCs)A road‑legal electric bike must: If it meets these rules, it’s treated like a normal bicycle — no licence, insurance, or registration needed. ❌ What Is Not a Legal E‑Bike?If an electric bike does not meet EAPC rules, it becomes a moped/motorbike in the eyes of the law.
